I live and work on the stolen and unceded lands of the Wadawurrung, Wurundjeri and Dja Dja Wurrung peoples, which are part of the Kulin Nation. I support the liberation of all Indigenous peoples, including in so-called 'Australia' and around the world.I aim for all kinds of people to be represented in my photography, including people from all different ethnic groups, body types, and ender and sexual identities. I am aware that I have some gaps in representation in my work, but as more people continue to work with me I will fill that in.I refuse to work with brands and clients that support the colonisation, occupation and genocide of Indigenous peoples anywhere, whether on this continent, in Palestine, or anywhere else.If you are a marginalised person or a grassroots organisation who needs cheaper rates, let me know and I will try my best to accommodate you.
My name is Ally Lockhart, and I am an editorial and commercial photographer based in Naarm (Melbourne) and Ballarat. I love working alongside and uplifting upcoming artists to make truly raw and impactful imagery. On the side, I also love more documentary-style photography, whether that's street photography or event photography, and I do some music production too.I've loved photography since I was a young child, starting to take photos when I was 4 and posting them on Instagram when I was 11. However, I started learning photography properly in 2022 and decided to take it seriously in 2024. I have completed a Diploma of Photography at COLLARTS and am currently studying for a Bachelor's degree. Additionally, I have a Certificate III in Screen & Media and a Certificate II in Creative Industries. Both images were taken by Laura with my assistance.
